The S1 requires regular maintenance, just like all 2-in-1 robots. You'll need to wash out the dirty tank to keep it from becoming blocked. You'll also need to clean the swivel wheel and sensors frequently to avoid them from becoming clogged with dirt or dust. Overall, the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.

Mopping capabilities are very good, with a pair spinning mops which are able to lift and scrub floors, rather than just drag the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned with heated water, and dried in the basestation when required. Mops can also be refilled at the top of the station when needed.

3. Dreame X40 ultra

Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was released earlier this year. However, their latest flagship model comes with even more impressive features. It has outstanding cleaning performance and hands-off maintenance which makes it a strong contender for our best mop and vacuum robots. Its superior mapping abilities, RGB AI smart detection and a larger side brush will ensure an efficient, custom-designed clean is achieved.

The X40 Ultra vacuums well, getting rid of both large and fine debris. It works equally well on carpets and hard floors.
