The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping using app-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is awe-inspiring. It also automatically replenishes and self-empties its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's most intelligent robot vacuum to date. Its most notable advancement, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. It makes use of AI to identify objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's the first robot to provide you with pictures of the objects that it encounters, so you can instruct that it is safe to avoid it.

The Combo j7+ is also the most effective mop-bot we've ever tested, picking up spills and dirt with ease and leaving no trace that it was there. It's easy to control using the iRobot Home app that lets you schedule cleaning and create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't clean areas you don't want it to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop with your voice.

The design is also superior to the competition. It has a sleek, high-end piece that appears like an toy, not an obnoxious and loud robot. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System self-empties which is great for reducing your cleanup time.

In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ was quick to took away dirt, dust, and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in place instead of scattering it on the floor. It even could take small gravel and sand, which most other robots aren't able to do. And it did all this without getting caught in our pet's hair shedding.

While it's not quite as efficient as the $1,217 Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum and can't clean stairs, the j7+ is still an excellent choice for those who require both a vac and a mop in their home. It's not expensive and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take a long time to download updates, and often it's difficult to tell whether the update actually working until you see it in the action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than simply clean floors, the best automatic vacuum option is probably hybrid. These bots are equipped with a water tank, so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. These bots also have many additional features like smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. They are expensive at retail, but usually are reduced on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock makes some of our favorite robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. fail to impress. This is their least expensive auto-empty model. While it doesn't have some of the features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great option if you're willing to sacrifice a bit to save a few hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is noticeable gentle around obstacles like tables and walls and walls, which makes it a good choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is a area where many robot vacuums that are less expensive do not excel in. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is fantastic too, with very little missing in corners and along walls.

The Q5+, just like other Roborock products can be controlled with just a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleanings. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones and adjust your home map, or re-label rooms.

If you choose the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto emptying dock that is designed to make this robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, however, once it's in place it can be accomplished without difficulty. It has a large LCD screen that is very useful for setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This isn't a necessity for the majority of people but it will help you keep track of the maintenance intervals for your robot easily.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated, well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of both mopping and vacuuming. Its design and functionality are among the top available - but it's also pricey.

The base station looks nice and is hidden when it's not in use, and its size is relatively compact. The main reason to buy robot vacuum cleaner the station is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, chores and functions that other robots leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, and then electrolyze and heat the water. The majority of other robots require this.

Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's one of the few robot vacuums I've tried that does a really good job of picking up debris on bare floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially when it comes navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robotvacs. This means it is prone to getting stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It's not able climb stairs as well as competitors, for instance and it doesn't have an dock that allows the user to set up an exclusive cleaning zone for plush carpets.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great choice for those who need an automated vacuum that can do everything.

However, if you're looking to save some cash, or just don't care about the limitations of this robot, there are plenty of alternatives on the market with a wide range of eufy models that cost considerably less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and provides a similar in-app experience with more features, including stair climbing, a full-function dock, and a better overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.

4. eufy RoboVac G30

eufy is an Anker company that has an established track record of making robot vacuums that have the right balance of features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for hard and carpet floors, as well as a mopping function at a reasonable price. The way the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from other models. It makes use of an integrated map to create an image of the immovable objects in its path. It keeps track of the items it has cleaned and where it cannot access. It then returns to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning the area it left.

The elegant G30 isn't without its faults, though. The iRobot Roomba 675 is better built, incurs lower recurring costs, is charged more quickly and has the same battery life while offering better performance on floors with no carpet and carpets with a low pile. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn't need to be empty as often and comes with a set of boundaries that ensure it isn't in certain areas. The G30, on the other hand, is more affordable and much simpler to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't need to be emptied as frequently and has less difficulty with bulky items like cereal.
