The i3+ doesn't have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other Top Rated Robot Vacuum-rated robots that we tested. It could get stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces, like carpet and hardwood.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, and include putting away any clutter or toys it might encounter. It's also recommended to keep the dust bin and filter clean so that they don't become clogged with dirt. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and automatically emptys the dirt into the docking station’s external dustbin. 2. Roomba by iRobot

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model of the flagship line from iRobot and is equipped with the most recent features. It has self-charging and self-navigating. But the most important feature is its self-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that allows it to identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and direct your robot by voice or through the app.

The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin which removes major maintenance sources and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.

We were also impressed by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions as well as move around the room, and even vacuum a specific area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. We were able, once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This model also has a dock that charges to 100% in 3.5 hours and provides an easy access to two attachments as well as an wand clip. This is a huge improvement over previous Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.

The main issue with the V10 is its short running time. Its marketing claims that it can provide up to 60 minutes of running time are not true, as CR's testing shows. This is an average, not an exceptional, run time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. That's still enough run time to clean most of a home that's average size but not long enough to clean every area (though the second time around usually does the trick). The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have a lot of money to spend on the latest model of robot. It's capable of sucking up most kinds of debris in our testing, and it often goes over the same areas many times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach the corners and edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and help you navigate your home. It's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, including our top picks, the i3+EVO and j7+ Series. This means that it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords or furniture that isn't as sturdy, and frequently runs out of battery power before making it back to its original location.
