If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum that also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than other models and makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners or under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it some of my favorite navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh which can last up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery during the cleaning.

It's very fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways in just one pass. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to clean dirt, pet hair, and poop with ease. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it encounters rugs and the two side brushes help draw out debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as impressive. The mop rotates quickly and uses 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful to get into tight corners and on baseboards. Those same front arms can be used to clean up larger debris, like broken toys or books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping and is separate from the vacuum. It's simple to install and performs well however, this is something you'll need to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum solely for the reason of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a range of features.

The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house and also find furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and efficiently. This results in an effective, consistent cleaning that is also quite quick.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach a wide range of surface areas. This includes corners, baseboards, and other hard-to-reach spots. The side brush can be stretched to extend to the floor, close to the walls or other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.

Another noteworthy feature is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the amount of suction and select between a back-and-forth or slightly more random pattern. You can also alter the number of passes it must make, which will affect how quickly the device can move through your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.

The device is costly, however it has many useful features. It's crucial to note that it incurs periodic costs in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For instance the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.

The robot is divided into two parts which include a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module which includes an elastomer pad. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping but it does mean you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature is its precise floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option of setting "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers that help to shield certain areas of your home from being scrubbed with a mop.

We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up pet hair. It was able capture the majority of hair shed by our cats and even was able to get into the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low, and there were some lovely jingles that signal that it was in the process of getting its work done.

The biggest flaws were its simplistic app and the need to switch out the modules when switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app cannot keep multiple maps. This can be a problem if your home has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want a smart robot that can perform both mopping and vacuuming.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, but it comes with some distinctive features that make it worth a look. The X1 Omni's main draw is its massive dock which doubles as the robot's charging base and the housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning and the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.

The base comes with several control buttons that allow you to manually begin a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents who are concerned about their children messing around with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni can sometimes get so entangled with an obstruction, such as the power cord that is draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you manually free it. This is a rare event however it was frustrating because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert on its app.

Another possible issue is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad aside from the fact that the mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a major contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing view in a market which is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
