The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s smartest robot to date, is the Roomba J7+. The most significant advancement, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection technology. This uses AI to detect objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's also the first robot vacuum cleaner industrial to automatically send you photos of any object it encounters to let you know to stay clear of it in the future.

The Combo J7+ is the most effective mop-bot we've ever tested, picking up spills and dirt with ease while leaving no trace it was there. It's simple to control via the iRobot Home app which lets you schedule cleaning and create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't sweep areas you do not want it to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off by speaking to it.

While the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly, we've found it to be less reliable than other applications that work with robotic cleaners. It can take a while to download updates, and sometimes it's hard to determine whether the update actually functioning until you've seen it in the action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking to purchase a vacuum that does more than simply clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be hybrid. These bots are equipped with a water tank so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. They also have a range of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and even the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. They're expensive at retail, but usually come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock has some of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ is no exception. It's the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't come with some of the expensive features (like no-go zones or multi-story memories) however, it's an excellent option if you are willing to make some compromises to save a few bucks.

The Q5+ is remarkably soft when it comes to obstacles like tables and walls. This makes it an excellent choice for homes that have a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is a place where most robot vacuums of lower quality do not excel in. The Q5+'s navigation is superb, with only a few mishaps along walls or in corners.

The Q5+, just like other Roborock products can be controlled via just a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleanings and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and adjust your home map or change the labels of rooms.

The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially when it comes to navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren’t as reliable as other robotvacs. This means it can get stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms of the house. It's not able to navigate stairs as well as some competitors, either and doesn't come with a dock that allows you to set up an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for carpets with plush padding.

The Freo X Ultra robot automated vacuum cleaner and mop is an excellent choice for those who want a robot vacuum that does it all.

If you're looking to save some money, or just don't care about the limitations of this machine there are many alternatives available which include a variety of eufy models priced substantially less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and provides the same experience in the app, but with more features, including stairs, a fully-function dock, and better overall performance when vacuuming floors and low and high-pile carpets.

4. eufy RoboVac g30

eufy is an Anker company that has a long history of creating robot vacuums with the right balance of features, performance, and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning of hard and carpeted flooring, and mopping capabilities at an affordable price. It's easy to set it up, just connect one of the side brush and then turn it on. Then connect your charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. The dock must be placed near an outlet and have enough space to move.

The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be exact, which means it can be tucked away under sofas and other furniture with low clearance. Its design is less ostentatious than some rival models, sporting sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs an area in an arc for two minutes). You can also link the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to do unscheduled cleaning with voice commands.

The main aspect that makes the G30 apart from its competitors is the method it cleans. It uses a built-in mapping to create an image of the non-movable objects that are in its path while retaining what it's cleaned and the areas it's not able to access. When it needs to recharge, it will automatically return to its starting point and begins cleaning from where it left off.

The sleek G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba 675 is better built, incurs lower recurring expenses, charges faster and offers similar battery life, while providing better performance on floors with no carpet and low-pile carpet. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't have to be emptied as frequently and comes with the boundaries to restrict it from certain areas. The G30, on the other hand is less expensive and much simpler to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't have to be emptied as often and it's less trouble with bulky materials like cereal.
