Like the name suggests, GE's Profile series is geared towards consumers who want to incorporate cutting-edge technologies in their kitchen. This refrigerator has it all, from a Keurig K cup coffee maker in the door, to a clever dispenser of water. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. This fridge is expensive and I was expecting better.

Aside from that blip, this fridge is a fantastic choice. It has a large freezer compartment, which is quite uncommon in counter-depth French door fridges, and it holds a fair amount of frozen foods as compared to similar models.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for an French door refrigerator that won't cost you a fortune this Frigidaire is a solid option. It's a minimalist design that isn't as striking in appearance as some of the competition, but it has enough features to make it a good option. Its most important characteristic is the adjustable temperature drawer, which helps keep foods such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. Another great feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits over the two crisper bins. You can alter this feature by using the slider located on the on the outside of the drawer. You can also use this feature to set a general cooling level for the whole fridge, though I've found that adjusting the generic settings tends to produce better results than specific ones.

During my experiments, I noticed that the temperatures in the refrigerator were fairly consistent in different areas of the fridge. Temperatures at the top and bottom of the fridge didn't vary much from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a good performance, but it does not quite make it to the top of our rankings.
