Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet messes in one go and without the need to switch devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its affordable price and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple, and the quick-start guide will have you running in no time. You'll have a an entire dust bag, water tank and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops are spun at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you want for each room.

For instance, you could choose to have the robot do a deep clean in the kitchen and living rooms but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are also excellent, with the robot being capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only drawback is that the robot tends to hit walls and objects at a high speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning in the app will reveal exactly what the robot accomplished, where it's moving, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that indicates when maintenance is needed for cleaning up debris and washing the dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last 136 mins in standard mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you look at every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop is the newest version. This year's model has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power which allows it to pick up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners may miss.

This Roborock model, like the other two I tried it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates dual cameras that can detect objects, determining whether they're walls or other surfaces. It is able to change its course in a way that is automatic and clean around the objects, without missing a step.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also feature-packed. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it only has three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties, and the bin is auto-filling.

The only downside I've discovered with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount for manual washing. I've observed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app allows you to manage and set up these smart features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll need to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with its innovative features, top suction power, and advanced mowing capabilities. Its innovative design lets users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.

The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the best automatic vacuum and mop options available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry debris. It also has a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet in operation and only occasionally bursting during modes changes or self-maintenance.

Another standout feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brush, which lets it get into difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture such as table and chair legs. It also allows the robot to get under furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a great feature that allows the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Contrary to other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can also be programmed to skip areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors, and vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is intuitive and easy to use and the X40's intelligent features are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. They can also adjust suction power, change modes, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping setting. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to clean and has many convenient features, making it an ideal choice for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin and wash mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also detect if the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It does have a number of characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature on its mops, uses two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, dirt particles and remove spills and soiled spots.

The mop is also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that has yet to be seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and it could be a useful way of keeping your home clean for longer.

There's an impressive amount of settings on offer, including the ability to schedule cleaning robot mop and vacuum times and alter a variety of preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or buttons that can be found on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options for customising the cleaning process, and there are many features that other robots that vacuum and mop do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles instead of relying on the manual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It's heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list - at around 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and it feels robust and well built. Mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners. They can even reach down to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice feature.
