The best automatic vacuum and mop Robot Hoover

The best robot automatic hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as a dirt detector) are a plus.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our tests on floors that are bare and are particularly effective at cleaning pet hair. There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our first option. One of the flaws of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to get stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of a room.

It's still a good value particularly if your office or home has a lot of bare floors and you're looking to save money. It's also quiet and can be used when you're at work or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle however. If you're in need of it, the mopping pad can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its smart cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and efficient in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It also has a powerful suction and self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, although it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performing combination vacuum and mop utilizes advanced sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste and it learns the layout of your home over time for more efficient cleaning. The app lets you set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when it's in a carpeted area which prevents cross-contamination. The flex arm can be used to reach beneath furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to clean an entire home and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a decent cleaning job on a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog turds, socks, shoes and cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically fills up its base, and supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums, a feature that we've not seen on other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

This robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky models from the rivals. It's one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic mop or automatic vacuum cleaner that scored 100% in our testing thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that is fully autonomously refill and empty its base station and it boasts the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has an easy mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in the mornings before work, or in the evening when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. This is a two-in-one vacuum that is very efficient however, it's going to cost you more and make more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take charge of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and detect obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its competitors with premium features. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards however this was not foolproof in our tests and was sometimes confused with power cords or obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to accomplish the task. It also comes with an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for various areas of the house depending on how dirty the areas are.

If you own a larger home, it is worth selecting a model with a the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your home needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice command. If you have lots of furniture, a stair mode is also a good option. It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, arrange a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt for better performance. The app has a range of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction and sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. And you can set up a spot cleaning that scours a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it's more likely to be stuck on low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums that we have examined. It also comes with an app that is less intuitive and a small base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
