The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum that also mops then this is the model you should go for. It's smaller than other models on this list which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers one of my top navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery part way through cleaning.

It is very efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways in just one sweep. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to pick up dirt as well as pet hair and droppings with ease. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help pull away debris from corners.

The mopping performance is a little less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop rotates at a high speed and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scrubbing up dirt and staining. I've also noticed that the front arms protrude out a bit more than other robots, which is helpful for getting into tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger objects like books and broken toys.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums that mop vacuums and mop I've ever used. It is quieter and doesn't produce as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean that you don't have to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature was its accurate floorplan which it uses to create an outline for cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up pet hair. It was able to collect a large amount of hair that our cats shed and even was able to get into the nooks and crevices of our stairs which other robots struggled. It was silent and also had a few nice jingles that let you know when it was starting or finished its work.

The app was too easy and you had to alter the modules every time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app doesn't have the capacity to hold multiple maps, which could be a problem for homes with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuums that mop vacuum is the most expensive of our review. However, it has certain unique features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its huge dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dust bin and the 2.5 milliliter dust bin.

The base has several control buttons that allow you to manually begin a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to switch on a child lock that is a great touch for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to detect obstacles and furniture in its path. It will stay clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise in finding objects.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will sometimes get so entangled with an obstruction, such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug--that it becomes stuck and stops working until you manually free it. This was a rare incident, but frustrating nonetheless, since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert on its app.

Another issue that could be a problem is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You will need to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't an issue aside from the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.

On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot vacuum cleaner best, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big departure from the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing appearance in a market which is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
