WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you an increase in specific statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item upgrading by +3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.
